My Story

I am a visual artist and I work in a small, light filled studio in my home located in Houston, Texas. My creative journey began in 2010 when my oldest granddaughter was not able to attend the art classes I had set up for her, so I went in her place. Much to my surprise, I fell in love with creating art! Today my paintings fill the walls of my home gallery, as well as many homes in the United States and abroad.

Many of my paintings have been sold at exhibits or galleries. Although many new collectors of my art work often discover me through social media, including Facebook, Instagram, PInterest, Twitter and Google. For those people not currently in the market for one of my original pieces of art, I also offer affordable prints through Fine Art America- go to https://theresa-honeycheck.pixels.com

And finally, if you are interested in purchasing an original piece, click on my E-Commerce button where I offer easy credit card payment through PayPal. Please look at my FAQ page (on the drop down menu) for any return or shipping concerns you may have.

Thank you for looking!

My Story

Artist Statement

Artist Statement Artist Statement Artist Statement
I sketch, draw, paint with pastels, acrylics and oils, and occasionally play with collage.  I truly love it all.   The paintings I am best known for appeal to the interests of women; narrative scenes that touch the female heart. But my art work is continually evolving, as we all are. As a child and young woman, I had always explored the unknown.  Raised by Catholic nuns, I was labeled a 'day dreamer'.  Today, I still day dream all the time, but I transfer that to my art work.  For all my work, whether its an abstract painting or paintings of other things, I want the shapes and forms of all my art to have a foreceful presence. I want my thoughtfully chosen palette, which will always be cheerful, to be a reflection of energetic colors on my canvas!

“A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul.” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

I paint when I look at a painting in progress, I paint when I look at people's faces, I paint in my sleep, I never stop painting - it simply is not always done on canvas.
