Meet the Artist

I have always been excited about the idea of sharing beauty through my art work. I have glamorous dreams about the art I will make - about the artist I hope I have become - the artist I envisioned myself as - in order that I can share that beauty in my art stories - and with you my viewers.

Now, current day, my art has become all about femininity. I'm calling it "Classic Femininity." This subject has taken root within my heart. Classic Femininity is about embracing and embodying a feminine state of mind. I hope to take that idea and express it in the style and textures of my work; hoping to convey gentleness, sensitivity, empathy and sweetness in every brush stroke. I want my art to show the beauty of old-school elegance.

Thank you for visiting my site.

Artist Statement

I sketch.  I draw,.  I paint with watercolors, pastels, acrylics and oils.  I occasionally play with collage.  I truly love it all.

I am a visual artist and I work in a small, light filled studio in my home located in Houston, Texas. The one thing people should know about my art - whether it is a particular piece or my overall practice, is that a specific thread runs through it. That thread is that my work is intentionally painted the for the female audience.  The paintings I am best known for appeal to the interests of women; narrative scenes that touch the female heart. But my art work is continually evolving, as we all are. For all my art work, I want the shapes and forms to have a foreceful presence. I want my thoughtfully chosen palette, which will always be cheerful, to be a reflection of energetic colors on my canvas.

If you are interested in purchasing an original piece, click on my E-Commerce button where I offer easy credit card payment through PayPal. Please look at my FAQ page (on the drop down menu) for any return or shipping concerns you may have. (Please enjoy the poem following the FAQ page by F. Scott Fitzgerald - BUT the only way you can reach it is by going to Home and scrolling down the page instead of using the menu buttons).

"She was beautiful, but not like those girls in the magazines. She was beautiful for the way she thought. She was beautiful for the sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved. She was beautiful for her ability to make other people smile, even if she was sad. No, she wasn't beautiful for something as temporary as her looks. She was beautiful, deep down to her soul." (poem by F. Scott Fitzgerald)
